blogiversary - redux
I've been supremely busy lately, with the move and everything else, which is why it's taken me a while to finalise the plan for my blogiversary. It's been tough to choose between the various options you came up with, but in the end I've settled on an idea suggested by Prefectdt in email.
He proposed that I offer to take one stroke (of the cane probably, although I'm open to persuasion if you'd prefer something else) per signup to Northern Spanking, as a way of showing support for Paul and Lucy after the hassle they've had this year. The idea is that anyone who wants to contribute to my blogiversary spanking should sign up to the site, and leave a comment with their NSI username which can then be verified by Paul.
I absolutely adore this idea - it's lovely to have the chance to support such fantastic people, and my favourite thing about blogging is the community aspect, so incorporating that into my anniversary celebration seems very appropriate. I wanted to check that Lucy and Paul were okay with this before I went ahead with it, hence the delay - but they seem to like the idea, hooray!
So! The rules are:
- To contribute a stroke to my blogiversary caning, please join Northern Spanking and leave a comment on this entry with the username of your account. (Not the password!)
- If you're already a member of Northern Spanking and would like to get involved, please leave a comment on this entry with your username. Existing signups will still contribute a stroke, but probably with a different implement.
- If you'd like to vote on which implements are used for each set, please let me know your preference in the comments. I'm currently thinking the cane for comments from new signups, and the tawse or strap for comments from existing members, but I'm open to other suggestions.
- If you've already done the above and still have the urge to hurt me (and help Paul and Lucy) then repost the link to this entry and spread the word :)
If you decide to play, you'll get to spend hours browsing the massive archives at join Northern Spanking, happy in the knowledge that you've helped support two of the loveliest members of the scene, and me get the thrashing I need so badly. I mean, what more could you ask?
The final numbers will be counted at midnight, August 24th 2008, which gives you just over a week to make your mark. (As it were.) The punishment will be delivered and a free video clip of it uploaded to the blog in the following week.
Is this a good idea? Have I left it too late? I guess we'll find out...

What a great idea, Prefect, and well chosen, Pandora. I'm already a member at NSI, and am of course too far too kind-hearted to add a stroke to your total, :-) but I am looking forward to following the proceedings nonetheless.
My membership just ran out a couple of days ago. So I just rejoined (user name below). I love getting caned myself so I would like to see that as the main implement and the tawse was used at my secondary school so that seems an appropriate implement for the other strokes. My original membership lapsed earlier this year, so whether my sign-up yesterday (as JamesM) counts as new, I'll leave to you to decide.
In my primary schooldays in Edinburgh, pupils and teachers alike called it "the belt", and it was (almost) always administered to the hand only, so that's what I'd like to request for you.
May I say that I've enjoyed your work for other sites? I expect that I shall soon also download and enjoy "A little bit of water...", and I applaud your support for NS

A truly magnificent idea. The more so because it allows me to exact a bit of revenge for Pandora's vote on my "Comeuppance" caning.
It must be said that unlike the sadistic majority, she voted for the less severe 12 stroke option, which didn't win. So perhaps I should be equally merciful with her in return? Give me a moment to think about it.
First off, the cane is definitely the right choice of instrument to celebrate this blogiversary. The strap or tawse as the secondary implement (for existing memberships) also sound fine to me. If I had to pick one, my preference would be the strap.
Well then, what to do? I have a free account at Northern Spanking because I'm planning to write a review soon. In theory, I could try to use that one to contribute a stroke with the lighter implement. It would be merciful towards Pandora, but it would also be cheap towards Lucy and Paul.
Which one is the nobler of virtues, mercy or generosity? An interesting philosophical question. For any sadist worth his salt, it doesn't take long to decide, though.
So, I've just signed up for a proper membership. I'm sure you will agree, Fräulein, that it is all for the greater good: more support for Northern Spanking, and more gleeful fun for us in the audience. Besides, you obviously won't have another blogiversary for a year, so I want to make sure that you remember this one for a while...

Seriously though, a big thank you to Pandora and all those who have been influenced by the lovely little minx to join, or rejoin, Northern Spanking, it really does help tremendously, plus we're sure you'll love it when you get there!

(Hey, I'm probably the only guy in the world with two NSI accounts. As Prefectdt and Niki have pointed out to me, I might as well use them both. But don't blame them - I was toying with the idea, anyway, I just wanted to wait and see how high the numbers would be.)
Wow - considering I've not been around much this week, I'm quite overwhelmed by the number of responses! Thanks everyone for taking part, egging each other on, and generally being good fun and brilliant. Bonus points go to Ludwig for contributing two strokes, and James M for making me quake in my stylish yet affordable boots for most of the last three days. I've just sent off the final list of usernames for Paul to check and will be blogging about other stuff for a few days until we find time to schedule the punishment/filming.
