an unexpected vision
My journey home from work at the moment involves walking through the West End, which is particularly dazzling at this time of year. Shop windows are newly frosted, lights spill across the pavement, and beautiful displays sparkle with luxuries which cost a significant proportion of my salary. It's all wonderfully Dickensian, everything on sale is of the highest quality and in the most traditional style. So I shouldn't, really, have been surprised when I walked past this display one day after work, on my way to meet a friend:

A spankers' emporium? A sub's nightmare? More boar bristles and smooth olive wood backs than you can shake a stick at. (Or, indeed, a cane.)
I couldn't possibly comment on whether any of these finest accessories might find their way into any domly stockings this midwinter, but in the meantime, picture me at the end of a long day's work, tired and cold and hungry, extremely distracted by the range of spanking possibilities on bold display where anyone can stop and look, hovering in front of that window like an envious and over-excited Dickensian urchin. Hairbrushes, hairbrushes as far as the eye can see. And not a spanker in sight.
Which is probably a good thing. Hairbrushes are always much more pleasant in daydreams than reality.

There is something impossibly exciting about a beautiful British girl aroused and intrigued by expensive hair brushes in a West End shop window.
ReplyDeleteNow we know what to get you (or, one of your lucky chaps) for Christmas!
You should see the looks I get sometimes, when I'm looking at racks of hairbrushes. Problem is I have no hair on the head :-(

I totally understand. I also seem to find the best spanking implements when I'm out shopping for something else. Guess it's just out mind which sees alternate uses for many every day objects... :-)
ReplyDeleteMerely a gentleman's emporium, I should think (and a rather well-stocked one!)
ReplyDeleteRoland - I'd be worried about what the passersby thought about me gazing lustfully into a pharmacy window, but they were all London commuters and therefore no doubt in worlds of their own ;)
ReplyDeleteIf you can manage to get a Christmas present to me or my chaps I'd be very impressed (and dead chuffed at how lovely you are!). It might be tricky though. Virtual hairbrushes aren't scary at all :)
Prefectdt - *laughs* Oh man, you're in a worse pickle than me then. You could pretend you had a girlfriend with luxurious locks? Or just do your window-gazing in London where no-one will notice or care :)
Mark - it's hard to turn off the kink filter sometimes, isn't it? And I get an extra frisson of excitement from seeing something which is to me almost pornographic in a completely innocuous, public context...
The Headmaster - it is impressive, isn't it? It's on Piccadilly if you want to visit it for yourself. I haven't gone inside yet, it's the wrong end of town for me to travel in my lunch hour. But I think I might make the trip before Christmas...
