As you probably know by now, I'm a fan of curves and have learned to love my pear-shaped body. This is the shape I am when I'm healthy, exercising, and eating well, and I have no desire to seek a thinness that would be unnatural to me through starving myself. I don't think bigger is necessarily better, but there is beauty to be found in all shapes and sizes. Beauty isn't just about form, it's about grace, poise and the way someone moves. It's in someone's eyes and their voice and the quality of their skin. Seeing a beautiful naked body that is completely unself-conscious and comfortable with itself is one of the greatest delights in this world. I love gloriously curvaceous women with rippling thighs and firm globes everywhere you look, and I love slender, willowy waifs with small breasts and smooth hollows beneath their hipbones, and I love sleek, muscular women with strong shoulders and rounded biceps, and I love pillowy breasts and dimples and softly rounded bellies. And that's before I even start talking about men!
I'd love to see more variety in the body shape of models in erotic photography. At the moment skinny is the norm and any deviation from this is considered to be either substandard or special interest. One of the things I love about spanking porn is its greater willingness to see the beautiful in bottoms of all shapes and sizes. The compliments I've received from people on shoots and through this blog on my own curvy frame and plump behind has done wonders for my self-confidence, giving me a frank and relaxed appreciation of and affection for my idiosyncrasies. I'm grateful for that, and I really hope that all the kinky girls who aren't as skinny as the magazines want us to believe we should be find the same comfort in their skin.
Spanking BBW is an amazing venture in this respect, and it deserves the wholehearted support of everyone who wants to help deconstruct oppressive patriarchal standards for male and female beauty - and for our sexualities. I can't stress enough how important I think it is that the artificial construct of what is considered beautiful or acceptable be exploded, broken down. Every woman with an exhibitionist streak has the right to get thrills from showing herself off for the pleasure of others. Every kinky girl has the right to see girls like her portrayed in erotic pictures, not just the thin ones. There is so much scope and variation to beauty it seems backwards and ridiculous to limit ourselves arbitrarily to one sort of beauty or another.
I don't think any spanko would find fault with your body, sweetie. You have a full, firm set of bottom cheeks that any man would love to smack.

Perhaps I have a different perspective of beauty than most, but I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteYou might not be "skinny" but I can't really call you fat either. Sure you have some "meat on your bones" yet you seem to look in shape with a firm waist. That isn't fat.
And then we come to your face, extremely beautiful and then the long hair, I hope you don't mind me saying but you are quite a fox.
I most whole heartedly agree, although some people are naturaly thin and that suits them, every body shape has it's natural weight and not only do people (men and women) look better with their own natural proportions, I personaly feel healthier when I am at my natural weight and hope that others do too.
ReplyDeleteI stopped buying magazines like "Maxim" and "FHM" a couple of years ago, after I got sick of the "skinny with huge breasts shape" attitude, that seemed to become the only exeptable standard for this type of publication.
Well done to all the production companies, spanking, BDSM and others that promote good looking people, with their natural proportions, whatever they may be for that person.

I think that the spanking scene is one place where ultrathin really doesn't work. Maybe it's just me but I see (or participate in) someone really skinny getting spanked and I can't stop wondering how hard can be safe.

Anon - aww, it's sweet of you to say so :) I don't find fault with my body either, these days, but I was sillier when I was younger. I used to worry far too much about such things! Posting spanking pics online is one of the things that's helped me relax and learn to enjoy the shape I am :)

Anon - Thankyou for the compliments, but I think you misunderstand me! I don't think I'm "fat" at all, and never meant to imply that I did. My point is that all shapes and sizes deserve to be represented in spanking porn. If I was a big girl, I'd still enjoy being spanked and I'd still enjoy making spanking movies and pictures. I hate websites that only focus on stick-thin athletic girls. There are so many other sexy body types!
Prefectdt - I couldn't agree more! We need to move on from this outmoded construct of beauty as something unnatural which can only be maintained with expensive treatments and self-deprivation. I prefer a beauty that comes from loving life and loving one's body :)
ReplyDeleteMichael - true, a narrow target can be at greater risk of damage. But that shouldn't stop the thin kinky girls from enjoying their sexualities any more than it should stop the plump ones. Let's not replace one set of oppressive standards with another!
At least practising on a small target should hopefully make tops much more accurate, which can only be a good thing ;)

Roland - I'm glad you agree! However, I have to say that there is of course nothing wrong with boyish bottoms on girls or boys, or indeed with the guys who like them. I'm not one of the "real woman" brigade who maintains that only a certain kind of body is womanly. My post was intended to state the opposite: that ALL female bodyshapes can be womanly, sexy and beautiful.

Sexy and beautiful to those who find them so, yes...but womanly? - What about one of those really manly looking women shotputters from the former Soviet bloc?
